Drunk Driver Date From He**

So to start out this story let just say don't get in the vehicle with a drunk driver. Common Sense one would think. Well I thought so until last night when I got a call at 4am asking for a winch out on a 99 Ford Ranger out on County Rd. S in Onalaska. The girl that called me informed me she was not driving and told me to pick her up at Kiwk Trip in Holmen. I arrived at Kwik Trip and picked up the girl and she began telling me the story. So the story goes she was going on her first date with this guy and he arrived at her house to give her a ride. She got in the vehicle and they took of she started to notice he was quite drunk. He then proceeded to ask her to get the bottle of vodka next to him and pour him a shot. All of this was happening while driving down the road she quickly asked him to let her out of the vehicle. He refused for a little while until finally she made him mad enough and he swerved in the ditch which happened to be a large culvert which quickly sucked in his front end. The truck was stuck and they were out in the middle of no where. They then walked over two miles in the middle of the night to her vehicle and he had the nerve to ask her to bring the bottle of vodka with so they could drink while they walked remind you that both of these people are 19. She refused he then even asked if he could have her coat because he was cold this guy isn't to much of a gentleman ask you probably can tell by now. Long story short she drove him home called me when out with me to retrieve his vehicle while he slept. I towed his vehicle back to our shop dropped her off and told her to have a good night. This is the funny slash sad part of the story the girl shows up the next day with the same guy to pick up his vehicle for him because he didn't have a ride. The girl was very insecure and obviosly has no self confidence to stand up for herself I can't beleive on the first date you would let somone drive you around drunk and bail them out and still be with them. Thats just unbelievable! Now that I think back I just should have called the whole thing in as a drunk driver. Then that guy would have got what he really deserved a DUI and a Underage Drinking Ticket!

Halloween Wreck

I received a call at about noon on Halloween day from the Lacrosse county sheriffs department. They needed a tow truck on Highway 35 and East Gaarder St. for a 1999 Chrysler Town and Country with heavy front end damage. The call was less than a quarter mile from our shop so I quickly headed out to the scene. I had to drive by the scene before I could turn around because of the accident being on the opposite side of the road. I saw a tire wedge under the van I was towing. I couldn't figure out where It came from because both vehicles involved all had four tires. When I got to the scene I soon realised where the tire had came from. The vehicle that was rear ended was a Ford Explorer and the spare tire normally sits underneath the vehicle. The van had hit the truck so hard that it caused the spare tire to be ripped out from under the truck. The van was leaking antifreeze and tranny fluid all over the road so I quickly got the vehicle towed back to the shop and cleaned up the accident. No one was injured but I sure both party's weren't having a very good start to their Halloween. The person driving the van was issued a ticket for inattentive driving and then was released. Happy Halloween to all!
