Halloween Wreck

I received a call at about noon on Halloween day from the Lacrosse county sheriffs department. They needed a tow truck on Highway 35 and East Gaarder St. for a 1999 Chrysler Town and Country with heavy front end damage. The call was less than a quarter mile from our shop so I quickly headed out to the scene. I had to drive by the scene before I could turn around because of the accident being on the opposite side of the road. I saw a tire wedge under the van I was towing. I couldn't figure out where It came from because both vehicles involved all had four tires. When I got to the scene I soon realised where the tire had came from. The vehicle that was rear ended was a Ford Explorer and the spare tire normally sits underneath the vehicle. The van had hit the truck so hard that it caused the spare tire to be ripped out from under the truck. The van was leaking antifreeze and tranny fluid all over the road so I quickly got the vehicle towed back to the shop and cleaned up the accident. No one was injured but I sure both party's weren't having a very good start to their Halloween. The person driving the van was issued a ticket for inattentive driving and then was released. Happy Halloween to all!
